POI2PIC: Symbols

Add waypoints to you route

My prefered route planning system is MRA, but this can be done in any other route system.

To be used with POI2PIC, save/export the file as:
.gpx (route, track, POI).

Use Keywords

Use the right keywords in you waypoint naming to match the appropriate symbols. This can be done in 2 ways:

1. Use the keywords as defined (eg 'Lunch' or 'Church'). This can be done with or without brackeds (eg. '(Church)')
2. Add the symbol ID to the waypoint name (eg '#12' for restaurant)

Note: the Mapping is done in order of Keyword values (notice the spaces). If found, the search for another match is stopped.

Examples

• 'Auberge des Pyrénées (Lunch)' will map to
  (match on 'Lunch')
• 'Offroad Park' will map to
  (match on 'park')
• 'Information about monument X' will map to
  ('monument' is placed on the list before 'Information')
• 'Start Alt route to Gasstation' will map to
  (match on 'Start Alt ': watch the space!).
• 'Start Alternative route to Gasstation' will map to
  (match on 'Gasstation')
• 'Whatever text #74' will map to
  (Symbol ID 74 is shown)
• 'Whatever text (#29) will map to
  (Symbol ID 29 is shown)

Checking

After processing a GPX file in POI2PIC, a detailed list is shown, indicating how waypoint names and keywords are mapped with their corresponding symbols.
